# John Jacob Jr.’s Wednesday NCBA Power Rankings

The first full week of the NCBA regular season is complete, and it gave us almost everything.

A new tournament champion. A tournament runner-up. Another Miracle on Carpet. Major upsets. A suspension. And a new #2 in the official standings.

Remember: these rankings measure **performance during the week**, not overall rating.

Last week's Top 5 was Easton, Logan, Ari, Crosby and Dravon.

Here's where they stand now.

## 1. Logan ↑1

**Last Week: #2**
**This Week: 7–3**

Logan takes the top spot.

Monday began with a run to the semifinals of The Bed Co. Opening Day Tournament. Logan defeated Seth 6–2 before pushing Easton to the limit in a 6–5 semifinal loss.

He also split two additional matches with Triston.

Then came Wednesday.

Samuel somehow erased a 6–1 deficit and stunned Logan 6–5 in another "Miracle on Carpet."

Logan responded by winning **five straight**.

He defeated Connor 6–2, Triston 6–3, William 6–3, Noah 6–4 and Dravon 6–2.

That run carried Logan all the way to **#2 in the official standings with 512 points and a +32 ball differential**.

After spending part of preseason near the bottom, Logan is now Easton's closest challenger in the standings.

## 2. Easton ↓1

**Last Week: #1**
**This Week: 7–3**

Easton had an excellent week.

It just wasn't quite enough for #1 here.

Monday, Easton reached The Bed Co. Opening Day Tournament final after defeating Daniel and Logan.

Triston stopped him 6–5 in the championship.

Outside the tournament, Easton went 3–1, including two victories over Connor and a dominant 6–0 win over Crosby.

Wednesday brought victories over Samuel and Dravon.

But William delivered one of the biggest upsets of the season, defeating #1 Easton 6–5 while ranked #16.

Easton still sits overwhelmingly atop the official standings with **1,074 points**.

He simply finishes second in this week's Power Rankings.

## 3. Ari —

**Last Week: #3**
**This Week: 3–1**

Ari only played Monday before leaving for vacation.

He made those matches count.

Entering The Bed Co. tournament as the #7 seed, Ari immediately knocked out **#2 Connor 6–4**.

He reached the semifinals before eventual champion Triston defeated him 6–4.

Outside tournament play, Ari defeated Triston 6–4 in a major upset and added a 6–4 victory over Kinsey.

That gave Ari a **3–1 week**.

Ari did not compete Wednesday, but an absence doesn't erase what happened Monday.

He holds onto #3.

Ari is expected to miss approximately **one to two weeks**, meaning this may be his last Power Rankings appearance until he returns.

## 4. Triston — NEW

**Last Week: Not Ranked**
**This Week: 4–5**
**Bed Co. Opening Day Champion**

No player had a stranger week.

Triston finished below .500.

He was also the most successful tournament player in the NCBA.

Triston went a perfect **3–0 in The Bed Co. Opening Day Tournament**, defeating Dravon, Ari and finally #1 Easton 6–5 to capture the championship.

Outside tournament play, things were much rougher.

Triston lost to Ari, Connor, Logan and Crosby during the week, and Wednesday ended early when he was suspended for the remainder of the afternoon following repeated unsafe throws after a warning.

Those results explain why the tournament champion is only fourth.

But winning the first tournament of the regular season is too important to ignore.

Triston has spent months proving he can upset great players.

Now he has a trophy to prove he can win a bracket.

## 5. Connor — NEW

**Last Week: Not Ranked**
**This Week: 6–5**

Connor's week started about as badly as possible.

The #2 seed was eliminated in the first round of The Bed Co. Opening Day Tournament when #7 Ari defeated him 6–4.

Connor responded.

He collected five victories during Monday's additional matches, including a **6–3 win over Easton** and a convincing **6–2 victory over Triston**.

Wednesday wasn't as successful.

Logan defeated Connor 6–2, and Houston upset him 6–5.

Connor did finish with a 6–5 victory over Seth.

A 6–5 week isn't dominant.

But Connor faced some of the strongest competition in the league and produced enough important victories to return to the Top 5.

## Dropped From Last Week

### Crosby — Last Week: #4

Crosby didn't disappear quietly.

His biggest result this week was an enormous **6–4 upset over Triston**, who had just won The Bed Co. Opening Day Tournament.

That victory continues Crosby's improvement after previously reaching the 0-point floor.

But compared with the volume and accomplishments of this week's Top 5, Crosby didn't have enough results to hold his position.

He remains one of the most interesting players outside the rankings.

### Dravon — Last Week: #5

Dravon had a difficult week against strong competition.

He lost to Triston in the tournament, fell to Connor in a tiebreak and suffered Wednesday defeats against Easton and Logan.

There were good moments, but not enough victories to defend his Top 5 position.

## This Week's Top 5

**1. Logan ↑1**
**2. Easton ↓1**
**3. Ari —**
**4. Triston — NEW**
**5. Connor — NEW**

**Dropped: Crosby (#4), Dravon (#5)**

Logan had the best overall week.

Easton remains the unquestioned leader of the official standings.

Ari made four matches count.

Triston became a champion.

Connor fought his way back after an early tournament disaster.

And next week, Ari will likely be absent while everyone else gets another opportunity to move.

The regular season is only beginning.
