Emmett needed just one session to reach the NCBA’s top three.
On Monday, October 19, the newcomer won four consecutive matches against top-six opponents, finishing 4–1 with 360 rating points. Kinsey eventually stopped the unbeaten run, then finished the day inside the top five herself.
Meanwhile, Logan M. ended his losing streak, and Connor L.’s latest defeat left the former #1 down at ninth.
Emmett began his debut ranked #12 and immediately faced #2 Logan M.
The result was a 6–4 upset victory, worth 63 rating points.
Emmett followed it with a 6–3 win over Kinsey, climbing to #3 before his next match. He then edged Ari K. 6–5 and defeated Connor L. in a 6–6 tiebreak.
Four matches into his NCBA career, Emmett had beaten Logan M., Kinsey, Ari K., and Connor L.
His fifth match brought a familiar opponent—and a different result.
Kinsey answered her earlier loss with a 6–5 victory, ending Emmett’s winning streak and earning 59 points. Emmett still finished with a 160-point net gain, a +5 ball differential, and third place in the standings.
It is a small sample, but an impressive collection of victories.
Kinsey’s day continued with another 6–5 win, this time against fellow newcomer Jakob. Logan M. then defeated her 6–4 in the session’s final match.
That left Kinsey 2–2 for the day, with a modest three-point gain. Changes around her helped turn that small increase into a significant position: #5 with 289 points and a 9–8 record.
After last Wednesday’s five-upset run, Kinsey now has a place in the official top five.
Logan M.’s closing victory also mattered.
His opening loss to Emmett had extended his losing streak to four matches. Beating Kinsey stopped that run and secured a 1–1 session.
Logan M. remains #2 at 24–19 with 531 points, although his rating fell by 11 overall.
Connor L.’s recovery will have to wait.
His only match ended in a tiebreak loss to Emmett, extending his losing streak to four. Connor L. is now 16–14 with 249 points, placing him ninth.
Since finishing Opening Day at 15–8, Connor L. has gone 1–6. Monday’s close finish showed how narrow the difference can be, but the standings continue to reflect the losses.
Ari K. also lost his only match to Emmett and finishes at #6 with 260 points.
At the top, Easton P. did not appear in Monday’s recorded matches. He remains 33–11 with 1,332 points, and Logan M.’s net loss widened the gap between first and second to 801 points.
The updated top five:
Rank Player Record Rating
1 Easton P. 33–11 1,332
2 Logan M. 24–19 531
3 Emmett 4–1 360
4 Houston 3–1 317
5 Kinsey 9–8 289

With Emmett and Jakob joining the recorded standings, the field now contains 22 players. Emmett’s next session will offer the first test of whether he can sustain the form that carried him so far on debut.
