# John J.’s NCBA Power Rankings — After Opening Day

**By John J. | NCBA News**

Opening day changed a lot.

Easton P. dominated, Connor L. stayed near the top, Samuel H. stumbled badly, and several players made strong cases to move up.

These are not the official standings. They are John J.’s opinion on who looks strongest right now.

## 1. Easton P.

There is no debate here.

Easton P. went **5–0**, finished with a **+9 ball differential**, climbed to **462 rating points**, and made carpet ball history by becoming the first known player to knock in **five balls on one throw**.

He also beat William A. twice, Triston T. twice, and Dravon once.

**Stock:** Way up

## 2. Connor L.

Connor L. was close to having a perfect day himself.

He started 3–0 with wins over Logan M., Samuel H., and Ari K. before William A. handed him his only loss.

A **3–1 record and 300 points** keeps him clearly in the second spot.

Last season’s breakout was not a fluke.

**Stock:** Up

## 3. Ari K.

Ari K. had a mixed day, but his wins mattered.

He beat Samuel H. and then defeated Logan M. in a tiebreak while ranked lower, earning an upset bonus.

A 2–2 record is not dominant, but Ari K. continues to look like one of the league’s most dangerous players.

**Stock:** Slightly up

## 4. Logan M.

Logan M. also finished 2–2 and is tied with Ari K. at **199 points**.

He beat Samuel H. and Triston T. but lost close matches to Connor L. and Ari K.

His speed is still a major weapon, and nothing from opening day suggests last season’s championship runner-up should be counted out.

**Stock:** Steady

## 5. William A.

William A. earns the biggest jump into the Top 5.

His overall record is only **1–2**, but his one win was huge: he defeated **#1 Connor L. 6–5**.

He also pushed Easton P. to a 6–5 game before losing and later fell 6–3 in their rematch.

William A.’ss record looks worse than his actual level of play.

**Stock:** Up

## Just Outside the Top 5

**Triston T.** deserves serious consideration.

His 1–3 record is rough, but his one win was a major 6–5 upset over Ari K., earning the biggest single-match point gain of the day.

**Samuel H.** falls out of the Top 5 after an 0–3 opening day. He had several chances to produce another “Miracle on Carpet,” but none were completed.

### Updated Top 5

**1. Easton P.**
**2. Connor L.**
**3. Ari K.**
**4. Logan M.**
**5. William A.**

Opening day made one thing clear:

Easton P. is the player to catch.

Everyone else is already fighting for position behind him.
